Jody Seabody and the Whirls is a psychadellic punk-pop-rock band from Houston, Texas. They are not
indie-pop, they do not wear skinny jeans, and they do not have mustaches. They also do not apologize for any of these current
fashion faux-pas'. They have encountered several queries about their name and understandably so. 'Jody Seabody
and the Whirls' doesn't exactly roll off the tongue or catch in the brain. This problem ususally gets solved upon
first listen of the music, however, as the catchy tunes and swirling sounds jumble the pieces together in the respective new-comers
head and leaves them with an inherent understanding of all things in the universe. The band originally
formed in 2004 when they were but wee high school lads, all with a love for the great gift called 'Music'. Things
changed and people grew, however, and a few line-up changes were needed before the recording of their debut EP titled 'Orange',
which they released themselves in the fall of 2009. Alas, the band was faced with an abrupt change yet again soon after the
release of the EP with the departure of thier drummer. Clint (who was the guitarist at the time) being the natural that he
is, decided he would like to have a go at the drums permanently since he had so much fun playing them on his own anyway. So
with the new vaccancy at guitar the band recruited their old high school chum Dave Merriett to take over Clint's old duties,
and he fit in swimmingly. With the addition of Dave on lead guitar, and the move of Clint to drums and the regular usage of
Matt Johnston on bass and Bryce Perkins on rhythm guitar, the final line-up was complete and they immediately went to work
on new material for their debut LP which is to be released in the Summer of 2011, titled 'Summer Us'.
